Another year has begun in Room 122!
We are excited to begin another year in Kindergarten. We are happy to welcome a new group of Year 1 learners and to have our Year 2 learners back! We have worked towards setting up our classroom as the 'third teacher'. This means that materials we have chosen to put out in the classroom help build independence and thinking.
Susan Fraser states, “A classroom that is functioning successfully as a third teacher will be responsive to the children’s interests, provide opportunities for children to make their thinking visible and then foster further learning and engagement.” (Building Capacity Series (2012)). We look forward to the wonderful thinking and learning that will take place throughout the year.
